Covington’s downtown area is brimming with social activity and Southern elegance. Restaurants, boutiques, shops, bed and breakfasts, art galleries, museums and more line the cool, shady streets. A calendar chock-full of special events provides residents and visitors with plenty of options for entertainment and community involvement year-round.

The Covington Three Rivers Art Festival, held each November, features the work of over 200 artists primarily from the Gulf Coast region. Exhibiting a stunning and diverse array of art forms, the festival attracts as many as 50,000 visitors each year.

A Taste of Covington, held each spring since 2012, is Covington’s month-long celebration of wine and food. Events include Vintner's Dinners at some of the area’s finest restaurants, a tasting event at the St. Tammany Art Association, a Grand Tasting at the Greater Covington Center, and a Champagne Jazz Brunch at Annadele’s Plantation Restaurant.

The Covington Farmers Market, held every Wednesday and Saturday, features the area’s finest fresh produce, plants, eggs, milk, cheese, meat, poultry, and seafood. The Market also offers prepared food such as jam and jelly, juice and popsicles, Greek and Mediterranean food, authentic Mexican salsas and tamales, and much more. Live music, usually by talented local musicians, is regularly provided at this fun and friendly event.

Tammany Trace, a beautiful hike and bike trail that winds through five communities in St. Tammany Parish, includes access points and a bike rental point in Covington.

Sunset at the Landing, held once a month from March through October under a lush canopy of live oaks at the river landing, is a free outdoor concert that features some of the area’s most talented artists. Guests bring their own chairs and refreshments, then relax and enjoy an evening of friendly company and good music.
