Every October, the Tchefuncte River in Madisonville is packed with a magnificent display of classic wooden boats at the Madisonville Wooden Boat Festival.  Guests can view over one hundred of these classic boats while they enjoy live music, delicious food, arts and crafts booths, friendly contests, boat-building activities, and much more.

Fairview-Riverside State Park, a gorgeous 99-acre park located along the pristine Tchefuncte River, is one of St. Tammany Parish’s most admired retreats. The park offers a nice selection of clean and comfortable campsites, areas for picnicking, a playground, a boardwalk and nature trail along the river, and many other amenities and recreational opportunities. Also located within the park is the Otis House Museum, set inside a beautiful Queen Anne-style home built in the 1880s, where visitors can learn about Madisonville’s history and view interesting photographs and memorabilia.
